No "Hard" events coming up, but
here are a few other projects that might be of interest: A PLACE AT THE
TABLE Wayne published a story (written with his mother) called "A Place at the Table" several
years ago, in an anthology called "Mama's Boy." It's about his experiences coming out to his mother, told across
several Passovers. This story has now been adapted as a radio play by the cute bears behind The Cubby House, a podcast based
in Melbourne, Australia. To hear "A Place at the Table," visit http://thecubbyhouse.net.au/Home.php, and look for
Episode 21 in the Archives. BALL ONE Wayne
has an essay about his childhood obsession with baseball player Jim Palmer's Jockey shorts, called "Ball One, or How
I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Baseball," which was published in the new anthology "I Like It Like That,"
edited by Richard Labonte and Lawrence Schimel. SUCKER
Wayne also published a short story called "Sucker," which
is an excerpt from "Hard." This story was published in the anthology "Fresh Men 2." You can read it by
clicking on the Synopsis link on your left, and reading the excerpt that's linked to that page. Film director Peter Pizzi
has now made a short film of "Sucker," based on an adapted screenplay written by Wayne. The film is making the rounds
of gay film festivals. To see the film's trailer, and to find out where it's playing, visit www.magicclubfilms.com/sucker.htm
